Barncats in Ellensburg

I've been doing really well on my diet but am planning to blast it big-time while in in NEW YORK CITY Wednesday! Yeah- you read it right- I'm going to the Big Apple to hang out with Nikki (my awesome friend in Utah) who has to go there on Jet Blue business. She's giving me a buddy pass and a bed in her business-expensed room. Woohoo! Free trip for Julie! Well 'free' is relative because I'm sure I'll spend some money on food, ETC. while I'm there. I'm leaving after my jewelry party tonight (takin' the red-eye) and coming back Thursday at noon, just in time to get things ready for Marie's baby shower! I haven't been to NYC since April of my senior year of high school. For anyone counting, that's more than 21 years. I realize just now I didn't even take a camera with me the first time. Don't you love the digital age?

I have to hide my excitement from Dave because he just sees it as 'rubbing it in.' I feel bad he's not going, but not bad enough to stay home. I'm not stupid, right?

It's possible this could make up for having to camp on our family vacation. Not for everyone else though... I still feel kind of bad for them. Maybe we'll win the lottery and take a vacation to Florida instead. Of course, we'd have to buy a ticket to win. The odds are way worse if you don't. I wonder if a lot of people in South Beach are on the diet?
