New Day, Fresh Look

I decided it was time to spruce up the blog site so you'll notice a slight change - but I did stick with pink. Tell me what you think of it.
Also, I changed/added some links, so check them out. The 'Movie Reviews' link takes you to my co-workers site. She and her friend have an entertaining podcast also, so go to the itunes store and search 'cinebanter' and subscribe to it because they're pretty funny. Also, the guy (Michael) has a very nice voice.
Guess what I did today? I called the cabinet guy! Woohoo! I'll be making an appointment to have him come measure for the cabinets and get them ordered. I'm really excited. Dave gave me the go-ahead, which in my mind gives me the right to nag him if he isn't getting the kitchen project done in a timely manner. I'm pretty sure he knows that's what it means. He has been married to me for 19 years, after all.
Does anyone out there know how to make my upstairs computer connect to my wifi network whose router is in the basement? I get connected, but my signal is so low I can't download a whole web page before timing out. It's really frustrating because I can't use my computer in my office. Is there some sort of contraption that will make my signal go through 3 rooms and a floor? Actually, the floor isn't the problem because Shane's laptop gets signal directly above the router but the office is a few rooms away from there.
My mom came home from China Monday with all sorts of goodies. Pashmina scarves, silk ties for the boys, Tag Heuer watches (faux), Coach and Chloe purses (really good faux!) and LOTS of silver/pearl jewelry. My favorite is a pink pearl on a chunky silver ring she brought me. I'll have to take a picture of it. I'm wearing it as my wedding ring today (mainly because my fingers are chubby and it only fits that finger). She has really good taste, I have to say. Am I spoiled? Absolutely. And I love it.
I'll post pictures when we pick out the wood for the cabinets. Here's a question: do you think we would get tired of a glass block 'window' between the upper and lower cabinets? We're trying to preserve some of the light coming into the kitchen, but I know the blocks will eventually go out of style (again), so I'm not 100% on that idea. Give me some feedback, please?
