Friday the 13th
10:28 AM Edit This 2 Comments »13 is a lucky number for me- Dave and I got married on the 13th (February) so this day carries no dread with it. In fact, I'm taking a little trip down to Portland for the evening to visit with a friend that has been living in NYC but is going to be in Portland for the day (on a lay-over). I'm excited to have 1/2 day off from work.
Other good news- I had a test on Wednesday to check for PFO, which is a tunnel between the 2 sides of your heart. The test was pretty simple- they hooked two ultra-sound dopplers to a headband to monitor the arteries in my temples then they injected little tiny (safe) bubbles into a vein in my arm. The idea is that if the bubbles make it to my head they're going through my heart. No bubbles made it to my brain, so I'm clear, which is good news. They did the testing because 50% of people who suffer migraines with aura have that condition, and the condition itself is another risk factor for stroke (I already have several others). The other good news I got yesterday is that my insurance company has pre-authorized payment for Botox injections in my neck muscles, temples and forehead to treat the migraines. The neurologist said it would take about a month to take effect after the injections, so I'm antsy to have it done! If it works that means my headaches should be gone before my trip to Paris.
Speaking of traveling- my mom is in China presently. She's been there before with my dad when he was alive, but the group was going again and her friend wanted to go. Also, my Aunt and a few of my cousins were going so she couldn't pass it up. I'm not complaining- she brings back good loot from China :D
Here are a few of Camille's senior pictures that are new since the last time I posted pictures.
Our plans for the kitchen are coming along pretty well. It's almost time to order cabinets and I think we've picked out the granite we like (see picture). The other picture is of the kitchen layout we're going to try to copy (leaving in a post so we don't have to put in a beam). Right now there is a wall between the kitchen and living room. If we cut it out like this one we would put up a bar like they have. Our kitchen is a little bigger so the layout would be a little different, but this is the general idea. If you have ideas and/or comments please share them!
